Senate BillChaptered/Signed
S 8235: Increases the bonding authority of the New York city housing development corporation from nineteen billion dollars to twenty billion dollars.
What S 8235 does, verified September 28, 2025
The bill aims to increase the bonding authority of the New York City Housing Development Corporation. It limits the issuance of bonds to prevent the aggregate principal amount from exceeding $20 billion, which would cause the maximum capital reserve fund requirement to exceed $85 million. The bill takes into account outstanding bonds and notes, deducting them from the total amount. It also requires a concurrent resolution from the Senate and Assembly, and the Governor's agreement, before issuing bonds that would cause the maximum reserve fund requirement to exceed $30 million.
