AB 1121: Early literacy: professional development: instructional materials.
The bill aims to improve early literacy in California by requiring professional development and training programs for educators and instructional leaders. The state department of education must develop a list of recommended programs by August 31, 2026, and the state board of education must approve the list by January 1, 2027. School districts, county offices of education, and charter schools must ensure participation in approved programs by 2029.
