AB 127: Climate change.
The bill aims to amend various state codes to address climate change and promote clean energy. The state energy resources conservation and development commission will receive a 5% salary increase for its chairperson and members. The commission will also continue to award follow-on funding for projects that meet specific criteria. The bill modifies the certification process for large electrical generating facilities, requiring a nonrefundable deposit and annual fees. Facilities that use fossil fuels will be operated only during extreme events. The bill also updates funding for the clean transportation program to include zero-emission vehicle infrastructure. Additionally, the state air resources board will adopt schedules for annual fees to cover costs for certification, audit, and compliance programs.
