AB 140: State Bargaining Unit 6.
This bill makes several changes to state employment laws. It approves provisions of a collective bargaining agreement that require the expenditure of funds, but only if those funds are specifically appropriated by the legislature. The bill also updates memoranda of understanding for state bargaining unit 6, extending the period from 2025 to 2028. Additionally, it changes the personal leave program requirements for employees in bargaining unit 6, reducing the pay reduction from 10% to 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits per month. The bill also suspends the employer's monthly contribution for prefunding other postemployment benefits for two fiscal years and provides for the reduction of certain budget act item appropriations.
