AB 147: Education finance: education omnibus trailer bill.
The bill aims to improve education finance in California by making several changes to the way the state funds schools. The state board of education will be required to approve and post criteria for selecting professional development programs that teach literacy in transitional kindergarten through grade 5. The department of education will also assess a fee on providers of these programs, which will be used to support the implementation of these provisions.
