AB 1713: Public postsecondary education: students with disabilities: verification: academic accommodations.
This bill aims to improve services for students with disabilities in public postsecondary education. It requires campuses to accept an individualized education program and a specified plan issued by a school district, county office of education, or charter school as verification of a student's disability. Campuses must provide academic accommodations without requiring new or additional diagnostic evaluations. Instead, they can request supplemental information from the student to determine the most suitable accommodations. This bill commences on September 1, 2027.
