AB 2087: Trustees of the California State University: members.

The bill proposes changes to the composition of the California State University Board of Trustees, increasing its size from 25 to 27 members. It reduces the number of appointive members appointed by the governor and requires these members to be selected from outstanding citizens of California. The bill also mandates that one faculty member is chosen by the academic senate and two student members through an election process. Additionally, it adds four faculty and four non-faculty classified staff members elected via a specified procedure. The terms for the 10 newly elected members would expire on January 15th. The board must develop election procedures and certify results with an independent third party.
