this bill would amend the code of civil procedure to establish procedures for disqualifying judges from cases. currently, a party can file a written verified statement objecting to a judge's participation, but the statement must be served on the judge during courthouse business hours. the bill would also allow service on the court executive officer, in addition to the clerk, if the judge is present in the courthouse or chambers.
