This bill would eliminate the school accountability report card and replace it with the California School Dashboard. The dashboard is a web-based system that reports performance data on state and local indicators. The bill would require school districts to publicize the dashboard and notify parents or guardians annually when it is released. Additionally, the bill would make changes to the local control accountability plan and local control funding formula budget overview. The changes would eliminate the requirement for a report on the annual update to the plan and budget overview. The bill would also require the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for any costs mandated by the state.
