AB 2511: Behavioral Health Provider Comparable Worth Study.
The bill requires the Department of Industrial Relations to conduct a study on comparable worth for behavioral health providers and medical-surgical providers. The study will analyze compensation and reimbursement across various payment flows, including direct payments from health care service plans and health insurers, and payments made to intermediaries and health systems. The bill also requires entities to report certain data to the Department, including payments made to providers and intermediaries, and subjects non-compliant entities to a civil penalty. The Department is tasked with protecting the confidentiality of submitted information. The study's findings will be submitted to the legislature by January 1, 2028.
