AB 2544: Education for Filmmakers Pilot Program.
The proposed pilot program will develop a model for delivering high-quality artificial intelligence literacy instruction focused on careers in the entertainment industry. The program will create a connected training pipeline that links learning directly to employment opportunities. It will partner with entertainment industry unions, guilds, employers, and film schools to support the program. The program will be administered by the governor's office of business and economic development. A report will be submitted to the legislature by January 1, 2029, summarizing the program's results and providing recommendations for continuation, modification, or expansion. The program will be repealed by January 1, 2034.
