AB 2674: State Air Resources Board: internet website: methane emissions data.
This bill aims to protect customers of financial institutions from financial abuse and deception. To do this, financial institutions must take certain actions when they suspect financial abuse or deception, including employing preventive measures to prevent or stop the transaction. If a customer suffers harm from financial abuse or deception and did not receive a required preventive measure, they can provide written notice to the institution within 60 days of the suspect transaction. The institution must then investigate the transaction and relevant account history. If the institution refunds the amount of the suspect transaction plus interest, it is protected from liability. Customers can also bring civil actions to enforce the bill's provisions.
