AB 2787: Water, parks, and wildlife: omnibus bill.

The bill aims to improve the management of public resources in California. It would expand the authority of the department of fish and wildlife to enter into contracts with non-profit groups and resource conservation districts for the management of department-managed lands. The bill would also make it easier for landowners to cultivate or retain plants to provide waterfowl and game bird nesting habitat. Additionally, the bill would exempt vessels operating on Lake Tahoe or Topaz Lake from certain regulations, as long as the state of Nevada has a program in place for managing aquatic invasive species. The bill would also require the department of water resources to review and reassess the prioritization of groundwater basins, and to determine if a reprioritization is warranted every 10 years.
