AB 329: California Healthy Youth Act: adoption.
This bill aims to amend the education code to ensure that students in grades 7 to 12 receive comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention education. The instruction must include information about the effectiveness and safety of all FDA-approved contraceptive methods and an objective discussion of all legally available pregnancy outcomes. Additionally, the bill requires a comprehensive explanation of types of adoption, the rights of a placing birth parent, and local adoption resources and support. The state will reimburse local agencies and school districts for costs mandated by the state if the commission determines that the bill contains such costs.
