AB 503: School facilities: Civic Center Act: direct costs.

This bill amends the education code to restore the expanded definition of "direct costs" for use of school facilities or grounds. The definition, which was repealed as of January 1, 2025, includes costs for the entity's use of the facilities, as well as a share of the operating and maintenance costs and maintenance, repair, restoration, and refurbishment costs. The bill requires funds collected from these costs to be deposited into a special fund and used only for certain purposes. The bill also declares that it will take effect immediately as an urgency statute.
