AB 606: Certificated employees: professional services credential: out-of-state applicants.
This bill would amend the education code to establish standards for professional services credentials with a specialization in pupil personnel services. A local educational agency's program for preparing service credential holders in areas other than child welfare and attendance services must be in partnership with a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Out-of-state applicants who complete alternative requirements would be eligible for a preliminary professional services credential, which is valid for two years and can be renewed for another two years. This credential is intended for individuals who have not completed a traditional preparation program at a local educational agency.
