AB 810: Local government: internet websites and email addresses.

This bill requires local governments, including cities, counties, and city-counties, to use specific domain names for their internet websites and email addresses. The domain names must be either ".gov" or ".ca.gov" for government-related websites and email addresses, and ".gov" or ".ca.gov" for employee email addresses. The bill also requires special districts, joint powers authorities, and other political subdivisions to comply with these domain requirements by January 1, 2031. Community colleges and community colleges districts are allowed to use a ".edu" domain to satisfy these requirements. This bill adds to the duties of local officials and imposes a state-mandated local program.
