AB 865: Dual language immersion programs: instructional materials: grants.
The bill aims to expand access to quality dual language learning in California's education system by providing grants to school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to increase available instructional materials in partner languages for dual language immersion programs. The program will provide one-time grants of $100,000 to support the development of instructional materials, which will be used to increase available materials in partner languages at one or more schoolsites. Grant recipients will be required to report on how grant funds were expended, including a list of any materials obtained or developed, by June 29, 2029.
