SB 341: Instructional School Gardens Program: reestablishment: Department of Food and Agriculture.
The bill aims to reestablish the instructional school gardens program, which promotes the creation and support of instructional school gardens through grants and technical assistance. The program will be administered by the Department of Food and Agriculture, rather than the Department of Education. A working group consisting of the Department of Food and Agriculture, the Department of Education, and other organizations will advise and assist the department in carrying out the program. The program will establish an instructional school gardens and maintenance fund, which will be used to support the program. The Department of Food and Agriculture will develop a competitive grant process, including selection criteria and guidelines, for the program.
