This bill would amend California law to extend the notice period for a landlord to terminate a tenancy on a tenant who is in default on rent payments. The notice period would be increased from 3 days to 14 days, allowing the tenant more time to pay the overdue amount. If the tenant fails to pay within the extended notice period, the landlord can file a complaint for unlawful detainer to obtain possession of the property. The bill would make conforming changes to the existing law.
