This bill requires the health area of study for grades 1 to 6 to include mental health education. For grades 7 to 12, it adds mental health education to the adopted course of study. The bill imposes additional duties on local educational agencies and local officials, but also provides reimbursement for costs mandated by the state if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
