This bill aims to improve pupil safety at schools and prevent teen dating violence in California. The state will develop and post guidance and a list of statewide resources by July 1, 2026, to help prevent teen dating violence. These resources will be made available on the state's internet website and notified to school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools. By January 1, 2027, these organizations will be required to post the guidance and resources on their own websites. The bill also establishes a state-mandated local program to address teen dating violence. Reimbursement for costs associated with implementing this bill will be made to local agencies and school districts if determined by the Commission on State Mandates.
