AB 1314: Transitional housing placement providers.
This bill amends the health and safety code and welfare and institutions code to regulate transitional housing placement providers. It requires counties and program contracts to ensure that decisions about sharing bedrooms, bathrooms, and units are led by the program participant and agreed upon in collaboration with the provider. The bill also prohibits counties from contracting with transitional housing placement providers that contain terms creating unreasonable barriers for qualified foster youth's admission into or participation in the program. Additionally, the bill specifies contract requirements for counties contracting with transitional housing placement providers. No reimbursement is required by this act for certain reasons. The bill aims to promote the transition of foster children to adulthood by providing a safe and supportive environment.
