AB 1748: License suspension and revocation.

This bill proposes to amend driving privileges for individuals convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). If convicted of DUI, the privilege to operate a motor vehicle would be suspended for 1 year. The duration of the suspension or revocation would depend on the number of prior DUI convictions within a 10-year period. For 2-3 prior convictions, the suspension or revocation would be for 3-5 years. For 4 or more prior convictions, the privilege would be permanently revoked. Additionally, the bill would also suspend the privilege for 16 months if the individual's blood-alcohol concentration was 0.20% or more or they refused to take a chemical test.
