AB 367: Water: County of Ventura: fire suppression.
The bill requires a water supplier to have access to sufficient backup energy sources to operate critical fire suppression infrastructure in high or very high fire hazard severity zones in the county of Ventura. This includes having backup energy sources to supply water for at least 24 hours. The water supplier must annually inspect critical fire suppression infrastructure and backup energy sources. They must also notify the county office of emergency services within 3 business days of any reduction in water delivery capacity that could hinder firefighting operations. If fire damages make more than 10 residential dwellings uninhabitable, the county fire department must report the incident to the water supplier. The bill also requires reimbursement for costs mandated by the state if the commission on state mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
