This bill aims to extend the provisions related to ignition interlock devices (IIDs) until January 1, 2033. It would reinstate the law to its pre-2019 version on this date. The bill would require the Department of Motor Vehicles to report data on the implementation and efficacy of the statewide IID program to the Transportation Agency. The agency would also be required to report updated program outcomes to the legislature by July 1, 2031. Reimbursement for certain costs is not required by this act. The bill would repeal these provisions on July 1, 2035.
